The dream of founding the Raineri Agricultural Company became a reality in 2010, thanks to the determination and wilfulness of the Rinaldi family. The purpose of the Agricultural Company is to directly manage its own olive groves as well as those it has permanent access to. The total cultivated surface is vast: Raineri can count on the production of 10,000 plants, cultivated on 25 hectares.
The olives are pressed in certified mills near to the areas in which they are picked. It is fundamental that, once they are picked, the olives are processed as soon as possible. In this way all the qualities of this precious fruit remain unaltered.
Once pressed, the oil is stored in steel silos within a temperature-controlled environment, thus maintaining all of its organoleptic characteristics and properties.
Raineri also cares deeply about the environment and has thus installed a photovoltaic system so as to be self-sustaining and to avoid releasing pollutants into the environment. For Raineri quality means rigorous production and a sense of responsibility towards its customers, as well as providing information and respecting the local culture, people, and environment.
As requested by its clientele, The Raineri company has invited all of its suppliers from the ethical supply chain to commit themselves to respecting the ethical principles outlined in standard SA8000.
In addition, by optimizing the facility’s production potential Raineri was able to strengthen its market presence.
This while maintaining, unaltered, its characteristically high standards of quality, something which has also been confirmed by teams of expert tasters who evaluate the validity of oil samples.
Furthermore, Raineri guarantees the traceability of its production process, from the raw materials to the finished product, with the objective of identifying every company that has played a role in the production and packaging of their products.
The philosophy of the Raineri company has always been client-centred and provides consumers with a healthy and traceable product.
Furthermore, Raineri gives its clients the opportunity to trace the oil’s production process: from the finished product to the origins of the raw materials, getting to know each company that played a role in the production and packaging of the product.
Attention and dedication to the quality of its products has always been a fundamental aspect of Raineri’s history. That’s why the company will be adhering to the requirements of the Quality Management System in compliance with the following standards: ISO 9001 (Quality System), P.C. Agro Food (Product certification for “Taggiasca” Extra Virgin Olive Oil), and BRC and IFS (production hygiene standards for mass distribution and the foreign market).
Raineri brings you high quality products created with love and dedication. To do so it ensures that the environment in which it operates is protected and cared for, just like the olive groves from which the oil comes. In fact, for Raineri quality not only means rigorous production practices and customer care, but also local information and culture.
The concept of green economy pairs perfectly with Raineri’s philosophy which, in 2010, inspired the installation of a photovoltaic system that helps the company to reduce its emission into the atmosphere of harmful substances and pollutants that would otherwise contribute to the greenhouse effect.
Together with the construction of a new covered space for storage of supplies and packaging materials, Raineri has decided to invest in renewable energy sources by installing solar panelling.
In doing so, the company expects to see significant savings in energy consumption while respecting the surrounding environment. Protecting the environment was also one of the guiding principles in the construction of the corporate headquarters, which were built to respect the traditional Ligurian terracing of the surrounding area.
The photovoltaic system consists of a metal framed platform roof made of galvanized steel and measuring approximately 210 square meters, erected alongside the company buildings, and is comprised of 84 modules occupying a surface area of approximately 1,380 square meters, made up of 5 generators that ensure an energy production equal to 25.303.80 kWh.
Optimizing the facility’s production potential, the Raineri company was able to strengthen its presence in both the Italian and international markets while maintaining its consistently and characteristically high standards of quality, as confirmed by Raineri’s team of expert tasters as well.
Raineri guarantees the traceability of the production process, from the raw materials to the finished product, with the objective of identifying every company that has played a role in the production and packaging of their products.
Raineri has always monitored its raw materials. In December 1998, Raineri earned the Quality Management System certification in compliance with regulation UNI EN ISO 9001. In order to strengthen its reliability and quality it subsequently implemented and earned, in March 2000, the STP-ce-pc-agro 8 Technical Product Certification for “Taggiasca” Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
For Raineri, history is a value that is hidden in the surrounding rocks and landscape.
That’s why when the company decided to share its impressive past it was only natural to choose as its headquarters the ancient community oil mill, the oldest part of the facility, which, to this day, houses the company. The mill has been completely renovated: inside are the rooms in which the olives were once transformed into oil, outside is a small replica of the old iron wheel, the heart and muscle of the entire operation.
The first type of mill in existence in western Liguria, its wooden fruit press, iron presses, and wash house are just a few of the tools indicative of the years in which Ligurian oil conquered the most prestigious markets and was found in almost all of northern Europe’s royal courts.
All of this and much more is enclosed within the walls of the old mill, a testament to a glorious past which gives us the strength to view the present and the future with great optimism.
