Gold For Kids

Raineri trusted the work of Fondazione Umberto Veronesi and firmly believes that a proper and healthy diet plays a major role in primary prevention.

That’s why, in 2018, we decided to support the project Gold for Kids which embodies the commitment of Fondazione Umberto Veronesi in the field of paediatric oncology for the purpose of financing a research grant. A goal we met thanks to your purchase

The project

Each year, about 250,000 children are diagnosed with cancer globally.

The project Gold for Kids aimed at representing the final commitment of the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi in the field of paediatric oncology to support healthcare and promote access to scientific information.

The research grants

According to the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, the hope of research is given by young researchers who will next become great scientists.

They enthusiastically and passionately spend their time in labs and hospital departments to make their researches turn into drugs, therapies and solutions for those who are living in suffering.

10 Rules for a healthy diet

While supporting the project we have also drawn up a guide featuring 10 rules for a healthier lifestyle, with useful tips for your everyday diet.

  • Fruits and vegetables are vital for health. Eat several servings a day to ensure the proper amount of vitamins, minerals, and fibre.
  • Cereals are a great source of fibre and pure energy — (ideally whole-grain) pasta, rice, barley and spelt are a must in your meals.
  • Minimize salt consumption (consider that cold cuts and cheese contain a lot of salt!), use natural flavours such as spices and aromatic herbs.
  • Minimize the consumption of red meat (cattle, pig, sheep, goat and horse), reduce cold cuts and processed meats. Prefer beans and fish.
  • Drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day and avoid carbonated and sweetened drinks.
  • Choose raw extra virgin olive oil to season your dishes.
  • Fats are important for your health, but it is important to favour the mono- and polyunsaturated fats you can find in fish and vegetables.
  • Do not smoke and minimize alcohol consumption.
  • Engage in moderate physical activity (30 minutes/day).
  • Keep your normal weight, with a body mass index (BMI) ranging from 18.5 and 24.99. Below is the BMI formula:
    MC Kg/m2
    Kg=weight in kgs
    M2=squared height in metres.
